Elections in the Netherlands

Filed under: Uncategorized — ubuntudemon @ 8:39 pm

Tomorrow we have elections in the Netherlands. I’m going to vote for Groenlinks (Kees Vendrik). Here’s why :

  • GroenLinks cares about the environment
  • GroenLinks cares about the people
  • GroenLinks is against software patents
  • GroenLinks is for promoting usage of open source software

Here’s a dutch link about GroenLink’s opinion about open source and software patents : http://www.waaromgroenlinks.nl/html/software/

  1. You left out a few important points about Groenlinks:

    – Groenlinks has a sane economical policy, favoring an economy of many small companies over a few large companies. Which creates a more adaptive economy.

    – Groenlinks holds personal freedoms highly. Things like gay-marriage, drugs, etc. The government should not enforce a lifestyle. We have advertising for that.

Im going to vote them too. I do wonder what the elections would be if only people within the OSS community get to vote.

  2. to Meneer R :
    Thanks for sharing your views.
I was just giving a (really) short summary of my reasons. More (dutch) information about GroenLinks is available at http://www.groenlinks.nl

  3. If only I was old enough to vote (I’m 17) I would vote GL too, I’ve been looking into them recently and really come to like them. I guess it’s because I’m such an open source fanatic that I’m left-winged😉
