Dapper Point Release is coming soon!

Filed under: Uncategorized — ubuntudemon @ 10:23 am

As discussed in DapperPointReleaseProcess, we’ll be producing the first point release of Dapper (to be called Ubuntu 6.06.1 LTS) very soon, probably this week; this will be built from dapper, dapper-security, and dapper-updates, and will consist of updated desktop, alternate, and server CD images.

On the development release front, we expect to start preparing the next milestone release of Edgy (Knot 2) late this week.

  1. Would it actually be any change from a regular dapper installer that is regurly updated?

  2. No. There won’t be any differences between a fully upgraded 6.06.1 installation and a fully upgraded 6.06 installation.

  3. I have been waiting for this to come out. I haven’t upgraded from breezy yet. Hopefully this will be nice and bug free release.

  4. So it is basically dapper, with all current included updates?

  5. This is basically an updated Dapper cd. It’s a bit like a Service Pack.

The fix for “the worst bug in Dapper” :

won’t make this Point Release. I hope it makes a future Point Release. At least its fixed for Edgy AFAIK.
