I’ve often read in these forums Ubuntu new users claiming in a matter-of-fact way something along the lines of “Who are we kidding? Just face it–Windows is easier to use than Ubuntu.” It’s that obvious, is it? And, of course, it makes anyone who disagrees look like some kind of crazy Linux zealot.
My opinion :
For most use cases using Windows is more hard than using Ubuntu. (For example Ubuntu is easy to maintain and there is a lot of good open source software easy available from the “add/remove” menu entry.)
But for some use cases using Ubuntu is harder than using Windows. (For example for gamers or for people who are forced to use MS Office.)
Here’s a related blog entry.

I think personally my whole experience with ubuntu in the short time it has been has been awesome.
Many things can be changed to make things easier, like having a gui for use with .bin files instead of having to do go through terminal commands, just little things like that would make many things faster and easier.

Ubuntu is constantly improving in becoming easier. Dapper was easier than Breezy and Edgy will be a lot easier than Dapper.

Yes i was thinking of that, all releases seem to make many things simpler, and it is great that the common customizations has been approved, that will make many first setups a breeze.

Yeah the commoncustomizations spec is great. I will post a blog entry about “Edgy will be easier” later (probably this week).
